Yamaha Withdraws from Qatar MotoGP Citing Middle East Regional Security Volatility
DOHA / TOKYO — In a major development rattling the international motorsport calendar, Yamaha Factory Racing confirmed on Sunday that its team will not participate in the upcoming Qatar MotoGP event scheduled for November 6–8 at the Lusail International Circuit.
The team cited operational safety evaluations and logistical transit unpredictability across Middle Eastern flight corridors. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) confirmed the withdrawal, acknowledging that the absence of a premier factory team introduces significant sporting and championship point consequences for the 2026 title race.
